Fucking It Literally, In Some Cases.
Oct. 30th, 2026 12:59 pmA fellow member of Goes Wrong fandom,
you-know-your-name, got hold of a second-edition copy of Peter Pan Goes Wrong and discovered some absolutely incredible cut passages, which I am going to reproduce here in case Tumblr goes down.
( Insane cut excerpts from the second edition of Peter Pan Goes Wrong. )
Insane. Incredible. I'm obsessed. At one point I physically had to stand up and leave the room because I was flipping out so hard. Robert Grove/Chris's mother: my terrible OTP.
Interestingly, Chris's mother is called Carolyn here but Celia in The Christmas That Goes Wrong! Interestingly, I am LOSING MY MIND.
I'm also obsessed with Chris and Robert having a weird complicated pseudo-parental hug while Chris is in the depths of despair. There is so much wrong with these two, and I can't get enough of it.
While I'm on the topic, a couple of other thoughts on Cornley members sleeping with each other's relatives that I don't think I've ever posted here!
Firstly, we now have two separate explanations for how Chris knows that Robert slept with his mother: this one, and The Christmas That Goes Wrong, in which a hotel phones their radio show to confirm Robert's booking with Chris's mother. However, Robert has also slept with Dennis's mother, and Dennis is fully aware of that (and, moreover, fine with it). How did Dennis find out? Did he walk in on them? Did his mother tell him? Did Robert make a formal declaration after the fact, or indeed announce his intention beforehand?
Secondly, there's the matter of Chris's relationship with Robert's sister. Someone anonymously messaged me on Tumblr, asking me for my thoughts on their headcanon: 'Robert's sister is basically the female version of Robert. When Chris dated her, he was drawn to her qualities. Meanwhile, Chris finds Robert himself annoying as hell, and of course Chris is completely oblivious to their similarities.'
I can believe in this completely! Robert has a lot of qualities that are both compelling and frustrating; I can see Chris dismissing the entire package as frustrating and then seeing the qualities differently when he encounters them in someone else.
(Then, of course, Annie makes an offhand comment about how similar Robert and his sister are, and Chris spends the next week having a psychological breakdown.)
I'm so curious about how Chris and Robert's sister originally got together. The possibilities!
- Chris was introduced to her as Robert's sister and was extremely alarmed to find himself developing an interest in her, or
- Chris was introduced to her as Robert's sister and was tempted to pursue her as revenge for Robert's affair with his mother, possibly developing a genuine interest along the way, or
- Chris met her under other circumstances, began a relationship with her and was EXTREMELY alarmed to discover she was Robert's sister.
The dynamics within the drama society are such an awful, magnificent tangle. Just taking the concept of 'found family' and absolutely fucking it. I love it.
